There is a good news for Google Pixel smartphone users. Google has announced that Android 12 users can now securely transfer their WhatsApp chat history from iPhone to Android. This means that all Google Pixel users will be able to use this feature. It was earlier available for select Samsung phone users. Google said, “We have worked closely with the WhatsApp team for this, so that users do not face any problem in switching from iPhone to Android, and the WhatsApp history of users is safe with them.
Can be used in any phone of Android 12
Google has claimed that this transfer tool can be used in any phone launching with Android 12. This also means that the feature will not be limited to Samsung and Google devices only in the coming months.
You can do chat transfer like this
- For this, Google Pixel users will need a Lightning to USB-C cable. Through this, users will have to connect their Pixel to the iPhone.
- Next, you can scan a QR code on your iPhone to launch WhatsApp and transfer your chats, media and more to your Pixel phone.
- The company has claimed that through this, data is securely transferred from one device to another and users do not have to worry about it. During the transfer, Google has confirmed that the iPhone will not receive new messages.
Google’s statement
Google said in a blog post, “Our team has worked closely with WhatsApp to ensure that your data remains secure during the transfer process. So no one will be able to access your WhatsApp information and files. WhatsApp chat history will be copied from your iPhone to the new Android phone, and we will ensure that you do not receive new messages on the old device during the transfer process.”
