According to a CNBC report, Rawal has earned $800 (about Rs 60,000) in early 2021 using this method. Rawal claims that he powered his Mac mini M1 by plugging an inverter into the 12-volt (12V) power socket in the car’s center console. As we mentioned, they used free bitcoin mining software for mining.
The report further suggests that Siraj Rawal tried everything he could to mine cryptocurrency from his 2018 Tesla Model 3 electric car. He connected his Mac mini computer to the socket on the center console. He then interconnected five graphics cards (GPUs), connected them to the car’s internal battery pack, and placed this set of GPUs in the front boot of the car.
Now if you are thinking that voiding the warranty of your expensive electric car for such a small amount is not the wise thing to do, then somewhere you are right, but Rawal says that his move was worth it. He said mining with Tesla was as easy as connecting a normal computer to a power source.
At present, experts are very worried about the energy used in mining. Cryptocurrency mining requires the creation of a large network of blockchains, which is extremely expensive and demands a lot of electricity. In such a situation, Rawal surprised everyone by mining Bitcoin and Ethereum using only his car battery and Mac computer.
