no more likes
The Facebook page redesign is being rolled out for Indian users. It has removed likes for users in India and also reduced the focus on followers. Facebook introduced the redesign back in January but it is now rolling out to users in India. Its layout is now simpler and more intuitive. The Facebook page will also have a news feed that will allow users to engage in conversations, follow trends, interact with peers and connect with fans.
The company said in a statement that, “This will make it easier to follow trends, interact with peers and connect with fans. The dedicated news feed will also suggest new connections to other public figures, such as pages, groups, and trending content that cares about a page or public figure.”
To improve safety and integrity, Facebook noted that it has improved its ability to detect activity that is not permitted on its platform, including hate speech, violent, sexual or spam content.
Earlier this year, Facebook and Instagram introduced the ability for users to hide likes from their posts. Instagram will allow users to hide likes from all their posts, so that followers can’t see how many likes a particular post has got. The social media company says that by hiding the like counts, users can focus only on sharing photos and videos and not on the likes they are getting. Users on Instagram can not only hide their like count, but also cannot see how many likes the other person has received.
