Cleanliness about WhatsApp’s new privacy policy, said- ready to answer any questions

WhatsApp said that it is ready to answer questions on this issue.

India had asked WhatsApp to withdraw the changes made in its privacy policy. After this, WhatsApp said on Wednesday that the proposed change does not increase its ability to share user data with Facebook and it is ready to answer questions on the issue. The Government of India had asked 14 questions from WhatsApp on Tuesday about changes in its terms of service and privacy policy.

Target to provide transparency: WhatsApp

A WhatsApp spokesperson said that they want to reiterate that this update does not increase its data sharing capacity with Facebook. Their goal is to provide transparency and provide new options for businesses so that they can develop by helping their customers. The spokesman further said that they are working to answer the wrong information. And will be available to answer any question.

In a letter to WhatsApp CEO Will Cathcart, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology said that the proposed changes to WhatsApp’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, in which users have no choice but to opt-in, will be given the option and freedom of Indian citizens. Raises big concerns. It says that with more than 400 million users in India, the changes will have a negative impact on the citizens of the country.

WhatsApp has changed its terms and services and privacy policy which was to be implemented from 8 February 2021. However, it has been extended for three months i.e. until May 15. Questions have been raised about this change in the letter sent by the ministry. The ministry has asked for the withdrawal of the changes. Apart from this, information privacy, freedom of choice and data security have been asked to think once again.
