Today, i.e. from January 15, the way of calling from landline to mobile has changed in the country. From now on, every call made from a fixed phone to the mobile will be required to put a zero (0) before the mobile number. The Ministry of Communications has already announced this. To implement the new system, the telecom department had asked companies to make necessary arrangements by January 1.
The Ministry has also said that there will be no change in dialing plan for making calls from landline to landline, mobile to landline and mobile to mobile. To call mobile from landline, it was proposed by regulator TRAI to put 0 before mobile number, which was accepted by the telecom department.
Telecom companies remind customers
Telecom companies have also reminded customers that they have to first dial zero while making a call from landline to mobile from January 15. Airtel has told its fixed-line subscribers, “Under a directive from the Department of Telecommunications, which has been in operation since January 15, 2021, you have to dial zero before the number when mixing a phone on a mobile from your landline.” Reliance Jio Also its fixed line subscribers have reminded about this.
