A new Android virus is reaching people’s phones and systems through SMS and then creating a link regarding COVID 19 registration and vaccine. This is a case where a slight change in the website of vaccine registration is being made and spread further by making it fake.
After this, this virus is asking people for their contact, SMS and other information. Malware researcher Lukas Stefanko of cyber security firm ESET said that it is starting from April 2021 and it is still running in India.
How is this malware spreading?
This SMS virus here lures COVID 19 free registration. After this, through the message, it targets the users regarding fake free registration and corona vaccine. It automatically spreads through SMS and targets the contacts and asks them to download them. This malware has many names like COVID 19 Vaccine, COVID 19 Vaccine Registration, Vaccine Registration etc.
Recently, an advisory was issued by the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team, in which information has been given about Fake Kovin Vaccine Registration Apps and SMS. This response team has told that fake messages are being spread through SMS. Here this malware asks the users to download the app and apk file.
Let us tell you that the only way to avoid such viruses is that you do not click on any link or SMS. Always visit the Arogya Setu App or the Government Covin website. Never pay attention to SMS forwarded by anyone. On the other hand, if you click on any link by mistake, then do not share your personal information by mistake.
