Twitter is rolling back its system to verify users next year. The company is also asking people for their feedback on what the requirements should be for its blue checkmark. According to a Bloomberg report, the company will start allowing people to request verification in early 2021. On Tuesday, the company published a draft document in which it stated the initial requirements. The account should be active, famous and associated with a prominent person or brand.
Twitter has told six types of accounts, which will qualify, but some can be added later. The government, companies, brands and non-profits, news, entertainment, sports, activists, organizers and other influential people are in these accounts.
Users can give feedback to the company
Twitter said that users can give feedback to the company for two weeks based on the criteria, then the final policy is planned to be published on December 17. Twitter has used blue ticks to verify popular and popular users for years. This helps to separate genuine users and corporate accounts from fake ones. But the verification program has been very dilemma and the company has given very little explanation about the parameters in it.
The company had earlier approved users to apply for verification but the program was put on hold in 2017 when Chief Executive Director Jack Dorsey called the process broken.

The company wrote in a blog post on Tuesday that they were not clear who could be verified and when, why an account should be verified or what it means to be verified. In the changed verification process, Twitter has said that it can remove the verification if the user’s account Is inactive or he repeatedly breaks company rules.
