Big blow to Xiaomi fans, now Mi branding will not be available on the company’s products, this is the reason

Xiaomi will stop using the Mi branding on its products. Xiaomi has launched several premium products with sub-brands. In such a situation, the company will start it with MIX 4.

Now every smartphone will come with Xiaomi branding

Xiaomi recently overtook Samsung to become the world’s number one smartphone brand in terms of shipped smartphones. The company’s Mi-branded premium smartphones played an important role in achieving this success for Xiaomi. However, the smartphone maker is now ready to get rid of the Mi branding from all its products. Xiaomi is launching many products like Smart TV, TWS, fitness band under the Mi sub-brand. According to a report by XDA Developers, the company will instead start using the Xiaomi branding on its devices.

This change will be first seen in MIX 4. This is the first smartphone from Xiaomi that will come with an under display camera but you will not get the Mi branding in it. Although Xiaomi has not given any reason about it so far, but it is sure that the company is going to remove its branding from its products.

Although Xiaomi still has limited offerings in India, it sells smart home, lifestyle and computing products in China, including TVs, laptops, refrigerators, air fryers, smartwatches, scooters, robots, hair dryers. Most of these products use the Mi branding. This has been Xiaomi’s way of separating premium products from the more affordable ones that come with the Redmi branding. Xiaomi has so far benefited from this strategy. This mid-premium and flagship smartphone has been well received in India since its launch under the Mi sub-brand.

The report confirms that the change in strategy will not apply to existing Xiaomi products. The existing products will continue to be sold with Mi branding. This is also understandable as doing so can be a lengthy process and also creates a lot of confusion among the users. There is still no statement on whether Xiaomi will expand it here in India or not. Most users in India identify Xiaomi products with the Mi or Redmi branding.

Xiaomi also has a third sub-brand named Poco. Poco has established itself as an independent brand. It now competes with Redmi products.
