Battlegrounds Mobile India has achieved a new milestone in its debut journey. Crafton on Monday announced that the PUBG Mobile India avatar has now garnered 50 million downloads on the Google Play Store. Battlegrounds Mobile India managed to achieve this in a little over a month since its launch on July 2. As a thank you, Crafton Battlegrounds will reward every player on Mobile India with a Galaxy Messenger set permanent outfit. And while Android players are already celebrating the new rewards, iOS players may soon hear from Crafton about the release of Battlegrounds Mobile India on the iPhone.
Wuyol Lim, Head of Battlegrounds Mobile Division at Crafton said, “We extend our warmest wishes to our Indian fans on the occasion of Independence Day. We are delighted to be a part of this celebration, which has been made sweeter with Battlegrounds Mobile India. Users have garnered 50 million downloads in just one month on the Play Store! I look forward to an equally strong response to our first esports tournament starting next month.”
In addition to the rewards, which mainly include the Galaxy Messenger set permanent outfit for all players, Crafton is assuring that the iOS version of the game will be released soon. Crafton said it will “announce the iOS version of the game very soon on Battlegrounds Mobile India social media channels.”
Crafton recently launched an Independence Day festival for Battleground Mobile India players, which the company considers one of its many initiatives for Indian players. Last year, when the Indian version of PUBG Mobile was announced, Crafton had promised to organize special tournaments and events for the Indian audience. Celebrating India’s Independence Day is one of them, specially designed for Indian players.
The journey of PUBG Mobile in India has been quite eventful. The latest chapter includes the launch of the Battleground Mobile India Series tournament, which has garnered 540,000 registrations since the start of the registrations. Crafton said the stream schedule for the tournament will be announced after registration closes. The prize pool for the Battlegrounds Mobile India series is Rs 10 crore, making it one of the largest esports tournaments to be held in India.
Apart from this, Battleground Mobile India is getting a new season. Royal Pass Month 2 was launched last week. According to Crafton, the next RPM rank will remain at 50 “adding a higher number of rewards for each level”, while the challenge mission will only last one month.
