Companies making air conditioner (AC) are going to increase the price with the effect of increase in cost. Companies can increase the price by five to eight percent.
Companies like Voltas, Daikin, LG, Panasonic, Haier, Blue Star and Samsung are expecting demand to remain high in the summer season even after the price increases. In view of the epidemic, many companies have added some additional facilities related to health and hygiene in their products this time. To increase sales, companies are offering schemes such as payment in monthly installments (EMI) and cashback without additional cost.
Kanwaljeet Jawa, Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Daikin Airconditioning India said that prices of metals and compressors etc. have increased. They are mainly imported. In such a situation, it is possible to increase the price of aircondition by three to five percent.

President and CEO of Panasonic India and South Asia, Manish Sharma said that the price of AC can be increased by six to eight percent while the price of refrigerator can be increased by three to four percent. Voltas MD and CEO Pradeep Bakshi also said that the increase in cost has become inevitable.
Blue Star MD B Thyagarajan said that his company is going to increase the price of AC by three percent from April. Blue Star also increased the price of AC by five to eight percent in January. Eric Braganza, president of Higher Appliances India, spoke of an increase of around eight percent.
