The Apple Watch, which saved people’s lives, has done a commendable job because of its merits. A recent story is about a woman who had no idea she was having a heart attack until her Apple Watch alerted her to an abnormal heart pulse. As WZZM 13 reports, a Michigan woman has thanked Apple Watch for alerting her to a heart attack only after she arrived at the hospital.
Diane Fenstra of Michigan was alerted to an unusually high heart rate by the Apple Watch. She gave this information to her husband and after that both of them went to the hospital, where it was confirmed that the woman had suffered a heart attack. Fenstra told WZZM 13, “My heart rate on April 22 was 169 beats per minute, while the most vigorous exercise I did was walking just 12 steps. After this I called my husband and said do you think this is related? And he asked to consult a doctor.”
On arrival at the hospital, doctors performed an EKG, which revealed that Fenstra had recently suffered a heart attack, but was not aware of it.
Heart rate should be checked every morning
Fenstra said, “Unlike men who feel a weight on their chest at times, the symptoms of a heart attack are very different for a woman. I was having pain in moving my left arm down, I had slight swelling in my left leg. The biggest thing was the severe pain in my shoulder. Soon after the EKG was done, Fenstra did more tests, which showed that the blockage was causing the problem. After going through this condition, Fenstra encourages people to check their heart rate every morning as sometimes high heart rate can lead to fatal condition.
