Google Maps has started rolling out dark themes for all the Android users of the world. The company was testing this feature since last year. Google wrote in a tweet through its Android handle, “What do we want? Dark Theme! Where do we want it? Google Maps !” Google has been testing the Dark Mode for Google Maps since September last year and now it has been rolled out to the world level for Android users.
Night mode means providing the much needed break or rest to your eyes as well as helping to save battery life. To enable the dark theme, all you have to do is tap your map icon in the top right corner in Google Maps, search the theme settings in the list of configuration options, and then select the entry that will activate the dark mode.
To access this feature, users have to download the latest version of Android OS ie 10.61.2. A super-dark shade of gray has been given for the background in Google Maps with dark mode features. The name of the road comes in a light shade of gray, so that users can easily see important sites and roads.
Apart from this, Google has also provided a password checkup facility for Android handsets. The company said that the feature is currently integrated into Android phones with Android 9 and above. Let us know that the company is making every effort to improve Google Maps. By sending updates over time to the users, the company makes their experience even better.
