E-commerce giant Amazon (Amazon) seems to be surrounded in controversies due to some of its policies. A case has come out of the company illegally sacking two of its employees. The US National Labor Board has found that these two employees performed much better during the epidemic.
In fact, the online retailer had last year fired Emily Cunningham and Marine Costa, who accused the company of discriminating and enforcing policies in a discriminatory manner. According to Reuters, according to their charge filed in October, the company had barred its employees from exercising “chill and rest” rights.
The board said on Monday that its regional directors in Seattle will issue a complaint if employees do not resolve the matter.
More work is taken from employees during corona
Cunningham and Costa questioned Amazon’s epidemic safety protocol nearly a year ago. He said that during the Corona epidemic, the company did not take care of the safety of its employees, not only that, more work was also taken from them.
Amazon cited the policy
Amazon said that they criticize the working conditions but because of this the employees have not been removed. The company said, “We have fired these employees for not speaking publicly about working conditions, safety or stability, but for repeated violations of internal policies.” However, the company has not yet told what are the internal policies due to which Cunningham and Costa have lost their jobs.
Cunningham and Costa did not immediately comment on this. The local unit of the International Head of the UFCW Association, Mark Peron, helped to file the charge. Mark Perron said in a statement, “This is a reminder that Amazon will break the law on its own to silence its employees.”
