JioPhone Next has been developed by Reliance with the help of Google and Qualcomm. For the first time, a new OS has also been introduced with JioPhone Next.
JioPhone Next targets first-time smartphone users and those seeking an upgrade from feature phones. To make it easier for rural and underage buyers, Reliance has also introduced EMI option for JioPhone Next. If you can’t get it to beer in one go, you can get it for a down payment of Rs 1,999. The installment amount starts from Rs.300 and is for 18 and 24 months. DMI Finance has also tied up with Reliance Retail to offer EMI on JioPhone Next.
JioPhone Next flaunts a 5.45-inch HD+ display and is protected by third-generation Gorilla Glass. The smartphone comes with a quad-core chipset developed by Qualcomm. JioPhone Next has a 3,500mAh battery.
In optics, it supports 13MP main camera and 8MP selfie lens. For computing, the JioPhone Next packs 2GB of RAM with 32GB of internal space.
Jio and Google have jointly developed Pragati OS for JioPhone Next. This will be the first smartphone to feature this feature. It is based on Android Go version but comes with customization. JioPhone Next also comes with Read Aloud and Translate feature to help the marginalized.
Overall, JioPhone Next aims to add a new user base to the smartphone market. There are still more than 200 million feature phone users in the country who want to be a part of it. JioPhone Next will compete with Chinese players like Xiaomi and Realme.
