5G in India: Most of the people in the country are eagerly waiting for the next generation network. Millions of smartphone users are hoping that they will get fast connectivity through 5G, so they are eagerly waiting for it. Now a report has revealed that when the 5G network arrives in the country, at least 40 million users will start using it in the first year itself. This estimate has been made in a report of research conducted by Ericsson in which the company had studied about the impact it will have on the current smartphone users, when 5G is coming worldwide. Apart from this, it was also studied in research that what users are expecting about this technology.
Willing to pay 50% more price
Nitin Bansal, head of Ericsson India and Network Solutions South East Asia, Oceania and India, informed that many interesting things have come up in the Ericsson Consumer Lab Study. Some Indian service providers are already preparing for 5G support, so if it is launched, at least 4 crore smartphone users will switch to 5G in the first year itself. Apart from this, according to Bansal, the report has revealed that Indian consumers are ready to pay up to 50 per cent more for 5G plans with digital services while they are willing to pay only 10 per cent premium for 5G connectivity.

Attraction towards 5G increased compared to 2019
According to Ericsson’s report, about 67 percent of users have expressed their desire to upgrade their network to 5G. This figure was just 14 per cent in 2019, two years ago. According to Bansal, in this way, there are most such users in India who want to adopt 5G services. Of those who want to upgrade to 5G services, 70 percent want faster speeds than 4G, while 60 percent want to enjoy services like family members or 5G data sharing between multiple devices. Users who want to adopt 5G, spend most of their time in video and multiplayer mobile gaming.
