Chat forever mute
WhatsApp launched a new feature this year, in which chat can be muted forever. That is, if you are having trouble with a person or group chat, then you do not even have to block it. You can mute it forever. This new feature is available for both Android and iOS users. This new feature has also been added to the web version of the platform. Earlier, users had the option to mute chat for a period of eight hours, one week or one year. Now ‘Always’ has replaced the option of muting for S years.
QR Code feature
This year, the QR Code feature has come on WhatsApp. This will make it easier to add new contacts to the platform. As soon as you meet a new person, you can scan their QR code and add them to your contact. Now you do not need to enter their number digit for this. With this, you can also share the QR code with anyone, through which they will be able to add you. Your code will not expire until you delete it on your RISAT or your WhatsApp account.
Animated stickers
WhatsApp introduced animated stickers for all its Android and iOS users this year. With the help of this feature, users can send animated stickers to their contacts. This feature resembles Hike Messenger. After downloading the animated stickers, you have to go to the chat of the person to whom you want to send the animated stickers. Then tap on the emoji icon in the text box. Select the stickers option at the bottom of the display. After this, you will see a list of stickers packs, where you have to select the sticker pack you want to use. To send a sticker, select it and tap it.
Group video and voice call limit increased
This year, WhatsApp has increased the group video and voice call members limit from four to eight. This new update of group calling has also arrived in India. With this update WhatsApp wants to compete with other group calling apps like Zoom, Hosueparty, Skype etc. To make a group video call to eight people simultaneously, first open the messaging. Users can make a group call from a WhatsApp group or also select different contacts. To make a group call in a WhatsApp group, click on the call option at the top right of the screen. Then select the contacts that are to be included in the call. With the new update, users can select up to eight people. Then click on the call option.
Dark mode
In the year 2020, WhatsApp officially launched Dark Mode for Android and iOS users around the world. This year the feature was also announced to be available on WhatsApp web and desktop apps. To enable it on Android, open your WhatsApp and tap on the three dots on the top right. After this, you have to click on the Settings option. Open the chat option. Then tap on the theme option. Finally enable dark mode.
Whatsapp payment
This year, WhatsApp payment service started across the country. With this, now you can send money as well as messages on WhatsApp. WhatsApp’s payments feature is based on the Unified Payment Interface (UPI) system of the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). To send money, you have to create an account on WhatsApp. After that, open the chat of the person to whom to send money. Touch the attachment mark in the message box. After this, tap on Payment and fill the amount you want to send. After this, fill the UPI PIN on asking for it. Confirmation message will come after payment.

Custom wallpaper
Users will be able to apply custom wallpapers for different chats. Users will be able to apply custom wallpapers in addition to regular wallpapers on their preference or favorite chats. The company has also given the option to install separate chat wallpaper in dark mode. Once the phone is in dark mode, the change in the chat wallpaper can be seen.
Disappearing Message
WhatsApp launched the ‘Disappearing Message’ feature on its platform this year. Due to this feature, the messages sent on WhatsApp will automatically disappear after a certain time. Whenever customers enable this feature, then after seven days, the message will automatically disappear from the chat. This will help to make chatting more private. WhatsApp said that during chat with any one person, either of them can turn on this feature, while in group chat, this control will be with the administrator.
