Juhi Chawla
Actress Juhi Chawla shared a video on social media talking about the reasons for going to court against the rollout of 5G technology in India. He released the video and said in his clarification that, the petitioners are not against 5G and only want to prove it safe. He believes the important message got lost in the ‘noise’ surrounding the case.
Juhi Chawla said in the video that, in the last few days, there has been so much noise that I could not even hear myself. I think a very important message has been lost in the noise which is that we are not against 5G. Actually, we are welcoming it. All we are asking is that the authorities certify it as safe. We are only asking them to make their study public so that our fear goes away.”
He further said that, we only want to know that it is safe for children, pregnant women, unborn children, old and weak, flora and fauna. That’s all we’re asking.
Case done on 5G
Juhi Chawla had filed a case in the Delhi High Court expressing concern about the security of 5G technology. The suit, filed through advocate Deepak Khosla, sought the authorities to clarify whether the technology poses any threat to living organisms.
The matter was later dismissed by the High Court headed by Justice JR Midha. After this, the court also imposed a fine of 20 lakhs on Juhi Chawla. Midha had said that the process of law has been misused in this case. At the same time, he had also said that, it appears that the case was for publicity as Juhi Chawla had also shared the link of the hearing on social media.
The original petition, filed by Juhi, Viresh Malik and Tina Vachani, claimed that the 5G test would cause irreparable damage to the environment.
