‘Damn you son Shiva!’
‘You should stop calling yourself my son. You sit in the house wearing bangles. I myself along with the army will attack the fort of Sinhagad and throw the foreign flag from it and throw it away.
These are the words that made Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaja a great warrior. This is the word that Shivaji had heard when he called Tanaji and said, “Tanaji! Take the army and attack Sinhagad. Either way, we have to win Sinhagad.”
Who made Shivaji Maharaj a powerful warrior. In order to honor the words of who was he, Shivaji put his whole lot at stake to win the fort of Sinhagad, even losing even his beloved Tanaji. The person who had the greatest contribution in making Shivaji Maharaj a powerful warrior was his mother Jijabai. The same Jijabai, in whose honor Shivaji put his everything at stake to win the Sinhagad Fort. Even lost his beloved Tanaji.
From an early age, with the help of Guru, Samarth Ramdas, he raised Shivaji Maharaja like a soldier. At the same time, seeds of valor continued to be planted in him. An anecdote of Shivaji and his mother Jijabai is very famous. Referring to, ‘India’s dignified women’ Is found in a book called The story is such that whenever Jijabai used to see the flag of the Mughals at the fort of Sinhagad, her heart was filled with grief.
One day he called Shivaji to himself and said, “Son Shiva! You have to win Sinhagad at any cost. She did not stop here. She said enthusiastically inside Shivaji, son if you waved a foreign flag over it. Did not throw anything, then did nothing. I will consider you my son only when you are successful in doing so. ”
Shivaji was not so mature at that time. He bowed his head in front of Jijabai, saying, “Mother! The army of the Mughals is much larger than ours. Our present situation is also weaker than theirs. In such a situation it will not be easy to fight them and take off their flag from Sinhagad. It is a difficult aims at.” This answer of Shivaji did not come from Jijabai’s neck. She got excited and said in anger, “Damn you son Shiva! You should quit saying my son. You sit in the house wearing bangles. I myself along with the army will attack the fort of Sinhagad and throw the foreign flag from it and throw it away. ”
Shivaji was ashamed to hear his mother’s words. He first apologized to his mother. Then said, “Mother, I will definitely fulfill your wish, whatever happens. The very next moment, he summoned Tanaji and asked him to prepare for the war.”
On Shivaji’s orders, Tanaji went on to win Sihangarh and systematically gathered under the fort with the soldiers. The walls of the fort were very high and absolutely straight. It was difficult to climb on it. In such a situation, Tanaji acted wisely and started climbing his fort wall with four-five soldiers.
In the end, Tanaji was successful in approaching the fort. After this, with the help of rope, he summoned the rest of the companions to the fort. On the direct front, he fought valiantly with the opponent and took control over Sinhagad, but he himself did not live.
When Shivaji got this news, his eyes became moist. After this victory, the only thing that came out of his mouth was that he won the fort ‘Garh Ala, Pan Singh Galla’, but lost his lion. This victory of Shivaji is recorded in the pages of history with golden letters.
