Today, who we are going to tell you about, they are also sitting on the chair of the officer today after facing such struggle and hard work. We are talking about Himanshu Gupta, a resident of Siroli, a small village in Bareilly, UP.
In this way, after suffering hard work and struggle, IAS officer became the son of a tea seller
Himanshu Gupta was often impressed when he saw the lifestyle of big and successful people on TV. Himanshu wanted one day to be a part of such a life and the truth was that the son of a daily wage earner never let his dreams break. Rather woven them and very lovingly. Finally, Himanshu Gupta, who sold tea at a T-stall with his father, became an IPS officer by passing the Union Public Service Commission Civil Service Examination.
Success Story of IAS Himanshu Gupta: childhood of Himanshu Gupta
Himanshu’s childhood was not like ordinary children. He spent days in extreme poverty. His father used to work as a daily wage laborer, after that he started hiring tea. Himanshu also used to help his father in this work after school. While sharing tea, when he saw some people that he could not even count money on fingers, he thought how important education is in life. At the same time, he decided that he would change his life only by making education a tool. The difficulties of Himanshu’s childhood can be gauged from the fact that his school was 35 km away from home.
Used to travel 70 kilometers for studies
He traveled 70 kilometers every day, only to get basic education. He then helped Dad to a tea stall. In such a situation, you can estimate yourself how much time he used to get for his studies, but Himanshu was sharp in mind, he learned things quickly and he took less time to study than other students. Similarly, Himanshu took education up to class 12. Himanshu’s father later opened the general store shop that still exists today.
Steps placed in a metro city for the first time after class 12
Himanshu recalls the old days in an interview, stating that when he reached the Hindu College in Delhi after Class 12, it was the first time he had stepped into a metro city. While searching for good institutes of Random India in his father’s phone, he read about Delhi University. Luckily his scores were good and he got admission. Since coming here, Himanshu did many more things with the study to solve the money problem till further studies. He has taught tuitions, written paid blogs and received scholarships wherever possible. This is how his education was completed.
Himanshu has the ability to achieve something big
After graduation, he got the ability of MSC and Himanshu’s ability to know from here that he passed the UGC NET exam three times during this period. Not only this, they also brought singles digit rank in the GATE exam and also topped their college. Himanshu’s confidence increased considerably and he felt that he had the ability to achieve something even greater. Meanwhile, he also got opportunities to go abroad to Phd, but he chose to stay with his country and especially his parents, who had taught him so hard. This was also the occasion when Himanshu started thinking about civil services very seriously.
UPSC preparation without coaching
There were two reasons for Himanshu not coaching. One is money and the other is always trusting self study only because of self study. Himanshu gave the exam by preparing wholeheartedly, but failed badly in the first semester. This situation was also very bad for him because he was in great need of money for himself and family. Himanshu took JRF and started doing MFILL. This decision brought money but it was very difficult to manage time between civil service and research.
Himanshu achieved 304 rank in UPSC exam
As we know, UPSC exam demands full time division but Himanshu did not have any option. They were also not among the retreaters. In March 2019, he submitted his theses here and a month later in April 2019, his civil services result came. Himanshu gets selected. The examination for the year 2018, whose result came in the year 2019, got 304 rank. Himanshu and his family remained unhappy.
Himanshu’s advice to students
Indian Administrative Service Himanshu says from his experience that it does not matter whether you are from a small place, have studied in a small school or the financial condition of your parents. If your dreams are big then you can reach anywhere in life. Your job will take you from one career to another, but your dreams can take you anywhere. So dream, work hard and believe in yourself because dreams really come true.
