Land suitable for cotton should have good water retention and drainage capacity! In areas where there is less rainfall, it is cultivated in Matiyar land with more water-holding capacity! Where irrigation facilities are available, it can be cultivated in sandy and sandy loam soil. It can be grown in lightly acidic and alkaline soils! The pH value appropriate for this is 5.5 to 6.0! However, it can also be cultivated in land up to 8.5 pH value!
How to treat cotton seeds?

To remove the fiber from the seeds, where possible, one liter of commercial sulfur for 10 kg of seed is sufficient!
Put the acid in the soil or plastic vessel and put the acid in it and stir with the wood for a couple of minutes, immediately after the seeds turn black, wash the seeds in running water and separate the floating seeds, by treating the seeds with the acid of the sulfur. Germination will be good! After doing this treatment, the seeds will not need to be bloated! To avoid seed-borne disease, soak the seeds in 10 liters of water for 8 to 10 hours in a solution of one gram streptomycin or two and a half grams of apramycin and then dry it after sowing. Farm Preparation Farming
Cotton is grown in rain-based black soil in South and Central India! To prepare the fields in these areas, a deep ploughing should be done after harvesting the rabi crop with a plunging plough. In which weeds are destroyed and rainwater accumulation is high. After this, moving the harrow 3 to 4 times is enough! Ploughing in the field before sowing! So that the field becomes flat, cotton farming in Northern India is mainly irrigation-based!
In these areas, one to two deep ploughing should be done for irrigation purposes. And after this, after 3 to 4 light ploughing, you should sow by planting Pata! While preparing the cotton field, it should be kept in mind that the field should be completely flat so that both the soil’s water retention and drainage capacity are good! If there is not much problem of weeds in the fields, then cotton can be cultivated without ploughing or even minimum ploughing!
Fertilizer and Truth
50 kg Urea, 150 kg Super Phosphate, 40 kg Murate Potash and 10 kg Jake Sulfate per acre should be given in cotton! After 45 and 75 days, mix one bag urea in native cotton. Such as Narmah, Bt cotton and indigenous cotton are sown in the state. The introduction of Bt hybrid varieties is a new revolution in cotton farming!
