Most of the youth of the country have a dream to join the civil services after passing the UPSC examination. Coaching institutes in the name of preparing for UPSC exam in big cities of the country fill testimony to this fact. All of them carry the dream of becoming IAS / IPS in these institutes, but not all are able to fulfill that dream. It has been settled in the minds of the people that without taking admission in these institutes, a tough exam like UPSC cannot be passed, but this fact has been proved wrong by Anukreethi Sharma. To know how she proved wrong, first know her story:
Who is Anukriti Sharma?
Anu completed her early studies from Indo India International School in Jaipur. After this, she studied graduation in Geological Sciences BSMS from Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Kolkata. Anu also cracked the net. After this, she went to USA to complete her PhD. Anu got married after returning from here. For most girls it stops here. After marriage, either they have to take care of the house or they have to work in the field in which they are, but this was not the case with Anu.
Decided after marriage
Only after marriage, Anu made up her mind to take UPSC exams and join civil services. It is really courageous to take such a difficult decision while handling the household. But the problem was that Anu had nothing in the name of preparation. First of all, she was a student of science. Apart from this, she neither had any knowledge about the constitution, IPC and article nor did she have enough time to leave home and go to a city and take coaching for it. Although the path was difficult, but once Joe Anu was determined then she did not look back.
It was a long journey but got the destination
It is not that Anu passed the UPSC examination in the first time, it took her more than five years to achieve his goal. In her five attempts, he passed the UPSC examination twice. She had written Mains three times before his Final Attempt. Every time her numbers were better than before and this gave her courage too. In 2017, she got the All India 355th rank by passing all the three stages of UPSC CSE exam. She was also selected, but she believed that she could do better. In a way, it was a risky move because the next ambush could prove to be the last for Anu. If her selection was not there, her dream would have been crushed, but Anu showed courage. She took breaks for good preparation in 2018 and took the exam for the fifth time in 2019. This time, her hard work brought more color than before and she got All India 138th rank. This is how Anu’s dream came true and she became an IAS officer.
India’s first female teacher to make women literate, whom people used to stone
Self success
Anu did not resort to any coaching institute to clear UPAC, but prepared it on her own with the help of internet. Anu did everything with the help of the Internet, from the information of the exam to match her answers with the toppers’ answer. They believe that there is no one bigger than the Internet. This was the reason that she was able to reach her destination without coaching or without joining a test series. She says that in any field you want to get information, you can find it on the net. Apart from this, Anu considers Motivational videos to be effective because they help in getting out of the frustrating days.
Advice to test-taking youth
Talking to the media, Anukreethy told some special things to the youth preparing for the exam. According to her, “Your answers should be written in a beautiful way, in which everything is given, headings, sub-headings, bullets etc.” Also, the part that is going to be highlighted should also be highlighted. Answer only the questions that are asked to you, not like the common board exams, write the rounds around the circle to enlarge the answers. Do not write anything that is not needed. Make a habit of making diagrams, flowcharts, exams and use them where possible, you can get good marks from it. Keep checking your answers. Make corrections wherever you need improvement. This way you can get good numbers in mains. ”
