In the early stage of their life, children are exposed to a lot of viruses, germs and other organisms, causing them to suffer various infections and diseases. Cold and flu are common recurring problems of children.
Keeping this in mind, the healthcare startup Navel Sutra has come up with many solutions for problems like cough and cold, and also claims to aid in immune building, brain development, and more.
Swati Sutaria Vakharia, Founder of Navel Sutra
Launched in September 2019, Navel Sutra is the pioneer of “Kalyan through belly button oils” in India. Its range includes measures for brain development, acne, haircare, skincare, menstrual pain relief and joint pain relief. The startup is also set to launch some more types of oils for eye care, daily digestion, and immunity among others.
According to Ayurveda, it is believed that our entire consciousness resides in our navel (navel). The navel contains the soul’s DNA and therefore to open the path of transformation and healing, it is important to reclaim its consciousness through the roots.
Swati Sutaria Vakharia, founder of Navel Sutra, says
“Due to an unhealthy lifestyle, our body produces a lot of toxins. The navel has the power to strengthen and activate internal cohesion to heal the internal strength of the body due to toxins accumulated in the body. “
She says, “I have personally used this technique and seen great results. To see the result, all you have to do is to put 2-3 drops of essential navel formula oil in your navel before going to bed and penetrate it by massaging the navel in a circular clockwise motion. You will be able to see the difference over a period of 21 days using it on a continuous basis. Ayurveda represents our navel as the source of our complete consciousness. The Puranas give our navel the title of our second brain. ”
Navel sutra journey
“During my phase of motherhood and breastfeeding, I encountered some health issues, the major of which is hair loss. While I was in the process of treating it, I was introduced to the concept of Ayurvedic treatment. Since I have always believed in home remedies and have chosen natural products for others, I was amazed at the benefits of Ayurveda. To my surprise, it was quite interesting and magical, ”says Swati.
“My cousin, an Ayurvedic doctor, Dr. Nikunj Mewada, gave me a deep knowledge of the concept and helped in formulating formulas for various oils. I started making some oil at home for my daughter and the results never failed to surprise me, thus beginning the navel formula, ”said Swati, 35.
The navel sutra hit the market with Ditty saying, “Three drops in your stomach before bedtime can heal your body.”
Swati also runs a charitable trust, Woman Planet Foundation Whose campaign Smile an initiative Is specifically designed for women and menstrual hygiene education in rural areas. He is an IT firm, Black ID Solutions Ki is also the owner and has been working in digital marketing for 14 years.
Swati says, “With the navel formula, I want to reintroduce the exotic, natural and pure Ayurvedic practices that perhaps the world has forgotten and can benefit from.”
Navel Sutra products are available through its website and on other third party platforms such as Amazon, Flipkart, Seniority, 1MG, Snapdeal, Etsy, and Limeroad.
It is an online retail model for now and over time the startup plans to enter offline mode through physical stores.
Navel Sutra has so far served more than 15,000 customers in India. Started with an initial investment of Rs 5 lakh, the firm aims to cross Rs 1 crore in turnover in its first year without any third party funding. The startup aims to add investors to its Phase II business.
future plans
Navel Sutra’s expansion plans include new markets such as the US, Australia and the UAE.
Swati says
“We are getting good traffic from the US to our website due to the huge demand for Ayurvedic products.”
The startup expects revenue of Rs 2-3 crore from foreign markets next year, hoping to ease the coronavirus crisis.
“We are planning to launch 10+ products and a new brand called” Recipe “has created products from Grandma’s Diary, an ancient way of dealing with diseases,” said Swati.
Navel Sutra is also keen to raise Rs 5 crore for funding.
“Nevertheless we are on our way to make people aware of our brand. We want to reach more people with more funding, ”said Swati.
Challenges and Growth Factors
Swati says
“With 14 years of experience in digital marketing, I knew that a solid business plan would be needed to be a leader in the industry, and to work hard to make people aware of the benefits of products. Also, being a mother I was not ready to take loans / funding from the market. I wanted to keep a work-life balance, without the intervention of investors. I planned the whole strategy with a low budget and funds. “
The second challenge for Swati was to obtain the high-quality raw material from the market.
“With a lot of research and studies, we can find the right raw material suppliers. Over time we started growing our raw materials such as castor seeds. We plan to develop more materials in our fields to improve quality over time, ”said Swati.
From selling 10 bottles a day during its launch to selling around 100-120 bottles a day, Navel Sutra has made a leap in business.
Talking about the customer of Navel Sutra, Swati says, “We cover a variety of age groups, starting from the brain development of children to joint pain for senior citizens. We have skincare solutions for anti-ageing and hair care solutions for both men and women. ”
