ChennaiIndian all-rounder Washington Sundar has been found to be Corona positive. He was selected among 18 players for the three-match ODI series against South Africa starting on 19 January. But it is doubtful to play the ODI series after his corona is infected.
The 22-year-old from Tamil Nadu has tested positive for the virus in Bengaluru and is not associated with other limited-overs cricketers in Mumbai who have to leave for South Africa in a day or two.

Sources in the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said, “Washington has tested positive for COVID-19 and has not been associated with limited overs specials in Mumbai so far. He was in Bangalore (National Cricket Academy) when he was found positive.

It is learned that Washington will not be able to board the chartered plane along with the other players selected for the ODI series and it is not yet clear whether BCCI will send them separately to South Africa later. The ODI series against South Africa will begin on January 19 in Paarl. The second ODI will be played at the same venue on January 21 while the final match will be played in Cape Town.
Washington, who was ruled out of the tour of England last year due to injury, returned to domestic cricket and performed well for his state team in the Vijay Hazare Trophy where Tamil Nadu reached the final.
