Dubai, Smriti Mandhana and Yastika Bhatia of India reached 10th and 39th place respectively in the latest world rankings for players in International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Women’s ODI Rankings. But captain Mithali Raj has slipped to the eighth place. Star opener Mandhana, who has scored 35, 10 and 30 runs in India’s last three matches at the ongoing ICC Women’s World Cup in New Zealand, has climbed a place to reach the top 10 with a rating of 663.
Meanwhile, Bhatia performed impressively as she climbed eight places to 39th in the rankings released on Tuesday. The left-handed batsman had scored half-centuries in India’s last two matches against Australia and Bangladesh. Mithali, who has slipped five places in the past two weeks, has slipped one more place and is now tied at eighth place with New Zealand’s Amy Satterthwaite.

The Indian skipper indicated a return to form after scoring 68 against Australia but could not even open an account during India’s 110-run win over Bangladesh on Tuesday. Australia’s Alyssa Healy (730 points) continues to top the ODI batting rankings but is facing challenges from her teammates.
Beth Mooney has moved up two places to second place with 725 rating points. Apart from them, Meg Lanning (715) and Rachel Haynes (712) have also moved up to fourth and fifth place respectively. South Africa’s Laura Wolwart has moved up two places to third. In the bowlers’ list, India pacer Pooja Vastrakar has moved up 13 places to be at 56th position while veteran Jhulan Goswami has slipped a place to be at seventh place.
Goswami, however, has moved up to ninth in the all-rounders’ list with her batting power, while Deepti Sharma, who has not played in the last two matches, has slipped two places to seventh. England’s spinner Sophie Ecclestone (773 points) is at the top of the bowlers’ list, while her partner Jess Jonassen (726) is second. South African fast bowlers Shabnim Ismail, Marijane Cap and Ayabonga Khaka are ranked fourth, fifth and sixth respectively. (agency)
