Mohali: India declared their first innings at an end with 574 for I wicket on the second day of the first Test against Sri Lanka, just before the tea break here on Saturday. Ravindra Jadeja, proving himself to be the country’s top all-rounder, played a big century inning an unbeaten 175.
Ravindra Jadeja top-scored with 175 not out for India, while Suranga Lakhmal, Vishwa Fernando and Lasith Embuldeniya took two wickets each for Sri Lanka. This is the second century in the Test cricket career of Ravindra Jadeja. He has done this feat in the first Test being played against Sri Lanka.
Here comes the declaration and that will also be Tea on Day 2 of the 1st Test.

Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin (61 off 82 balls) put on 130 runs for the seventh wicket, which also dealt a blow to Sri Lanka’s comeback prospects. Ashwin scored his 12th half-century while maintaining his good batting record on sub-continental pitches.
