The Women’s World Cup is to be held in New Zealand from March 4 in which the hosts will face West Indies in the opening match of the tournament. In New Zealand, however, there has been an increase in the cases of COVID-19 recently, due to which many restrictions have also been imposed.

Nelson said, “We have been preparing here for some time to host the World Cup in 2022, which was earlier to be held in 2021. We are running on schedule and 35 days from the opening match in Tauranga and 66 days from the final at Hagley Oval in Christchurch.
