Former Baltimore Ravens baller Torrey Smith bagged groceries Wednesday afternoon on the Bel Air Festival ShopRite for its annual Partners in Caring “Help Bag Hunger” occasion.
The two-time Super Bowl champion was there to carry consciousness to starvation as a part of the NFL Legends initiative. Smith was joined by a number of native leaders as superstar baggers who bagged clients’ groceries for one hour.
“We’re thrilled to have Baltimore Ravens legend Torrey Smith and elected officials here supporting a great cause,” Sarah Klein, director of front-end operations for Klein’s ShopRite, stated in a press release. “Serving our community is core to everything we do at Klein’s ShopRite. We look forward to continuing to host Partners in Caring and other events that benefit the incredible nonprofits in our region.”
ShopRite’s Partners in Caring is a community-based starvation combating initiative that helps greater than 2,200 charities. Two p.c of all gross sales Wednesday on the grocer’s six Harford County shops will profit the Harford County Empty Stocking Fund, which offers toys and different presents to the county’s deprived youngsters throughout the holidays.
Also, every Klein’s ShopRite grocery store in Harford County is donating $10,000 to the Maryland Food Bank, which designates the funds be used in the neighborhood served by every retailer.
