The NBA is suspending Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant for eight video games with out pay after he flashed a gun throughout a dwell stream video earlier this month.
“Ja’s conduct was irresponsible, reckless and potentially very dangerous,” NBA commissioner Adam Silver mentioned in a press release Wednesday afternoon.
The suspension comes after a face-to-face assembly Wednesday between Morant and Silver on the NBA’s places of work in Midtown Manhattan and a league investigation into his conduct.
Morant, a two-time All-Star, has not performed for the reason that Grizzlies’ March 3 loss to the Nuggets in Denver. It was at a Denver-area nightclub early the following morning that Morant — described within the league’s assertion as “holding a firearm in an intoxicated state” — went dwell on social media.
