Maharashtra Sports Minister Sunil Kedar said that spectators will be allowed in the stadium for the matches of IPL 2022 starting from March 26. The league matches of this tournament will be played at 4 venues, which are Wankhede Stadium, Brabourne Stadium, DY Patil Stadium and Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. The latest season of IPL 2022 will start from March 26, 2022 and the title clash will take place on May 29, 2022. A total of 70 league matches will be played in Mumbai and Pune. And, the venue of the playoff matches (IPL 2022 Play-Off) will be decided later.
Maharashtra Sports Minister Sunil Kedar said, “I am sure the way COVID-19 cases have come down, there will be a restriction-free environment soon. We hope that when IPL matches are held, there will be such an atmosphere that people will be allowed to go to the stadium. And this will be motivating for the players and there will be a good chance where people will be able to watch the match together again. Due to Corona, people have been sitting in the house for the last one and a half to two years. Maybe now we can expect a change.

20-20 matches of IPL 2022 will be played at Wankhede Stadium and DY Patil Stadium, while 15-15 matches will be played at Brabourne Stadium and Pune Stadium. On this matter, the Sports Minister said, “It is our luck that all league matches will be played in Pune and Mumbai in Maharashtra. As the Sports Minister of the state, I express my gratitude to BCCI. On matters such as the number of spectators in the stadium with bio-bubbles and restrictions, we will act as per international rules.
