Before the start of IPL 2022, Shikhar Dhawan gave an interview to Times of India. In this interview, he has expressed his desire to play in the upcoming T20 World Cup. He said, “The T20 World Cup is going to come soon. I know if I do well in IPL, I can be a part of the team. I don’t set goals for myself, I just enjoy my game. I enjoy my fitness and everything in the game that benefits me. If my preparation is strong then I can do everything. I am sure I will do well in IPL. If I do this then I can be a part of the World Cup team. This may or may not happen. Only time will tell, I will not let anything affect me.

Apart from this, Dhawan told about being a part of Punjab Kings in the interview. He said, “I am happy to be a part of Punjab Kings. I am Punjabi so my connection with him is very strong. Like Delhi, Punjab is also my home. Since childhood, I have been very fond of Punjabi songs. Being from a Punjabi family, I can speak Punjabi too, so there is a different connection with the fans. IPL is a great opportunity for both me and the team to prove something. Our team is balanced.”
IPL 2022 is going to start from 26th March. In the 15th season of IPL, Punjab Kings will play their first match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on 27 March. In the mega auction of IPL, Punjab Kings has bought Shikhar Dhawan for Rs 8.25 crore.
