England cricket team captain Eoin Morgan will miss the last 2 matches of the T20I series against West Indies due to quadriceps injury. Moeen Ali will take over in his absence and try to avert England’s only second T20I series loss out of 12 played so far.
Significantly, Eoin Morgan was feeling pain in his right side during the practice session of England. Due to which he also missed playing the third T20 match. Moeen Ali took over the captaincy in the third match. In this match, England’s team could not achieve the target of 225 runs from West Indies and West Indies took a 2-1 lead in this ongoing series (England vs West Indies T20 I Series, 2022).
The England Cricket Board (ECB) said in a statement, “It has been learned from the medical that he has suffered a right thigh muscle injury, which is not serious.” Significantly, Eoin Morgan felt pain in his right side during the warm-up, after which he was ruled out of the T20 match played in Barbados on Wednesday night.
Speedy recovery, Morgs

Moeen Ali could not play in the first match of this series. Whereas in the second match of the series, he performed brilliantly and for that he got the ‘Player of the Match’ (Player of the Match England vs West Indies T20I Series, 2022). He took 3 wickets for 24 runs while bowling in that match and played a brilliant innings of 31 runs when it came to bat. In this match, England won by 1 run.
But, in the third match of this series, Moeen Ali bowled just one over, in which he conceded 14 runs. And also got stuck in batting. He got out for zero.
Now the fourth and fifth matches of this series will be held on 29 and 30 January. After which the West Indies team will come on a tour of India.
