In recent times, many companies related to the fashion segment have been listed in the stock market. In view of this, Delhi-headquartered Biba Apparels has also started preparing to bring its Initial Public Offer (IPO). Moneycontrol has learned from sources that Biba Apparels has selected a few advisors for its proposed IPO.
Delhi-headquartered Biba Apparels is a leading fashion brand offering ethnic wear for women. It has investments from private equity firms like Warburg Pincus and Faering Capital.
A source said, on the condition of anonymity, “Biba Apparels has shortlisted 4 bankers for its proposed IPO. These include JM Financial, HSBC Securities, DAM Capital, and Ambit Capital. The company will invest Rs 1,500 crore through the IPO. Wants to raise Rs 2,000 crore from Rs.
At the same time, another source said that the company submits the draft paper for the IPO in the first quarter of the next financial year and is preparing to bring it in the year 2022 itself. A third source said the IPO could include fresh issue as well as offer-for-sale (OFS), to give a partial exit to Warburg Pincus and Fairing Capital.

Moneycontrol has sent queries to Biba Apparels and JM Financial in this regard. However, no response was received from both the firms till the time of writing this news. Meanwhile, HSBC Securities, DAM Capital and Ambit Capital declined to comment on the news.
Talking about other companies in the fashion segment, Manyavar brand owner Vedanta Fashion (Kedara Capital has investments in it) and Fabindia (Premjiinvest and Lighthouse Funds have investments) are also preparing for their IPO.
Recently, GoColors, which was invested by Sequoia Capital, saw a great listing in the stock markets. GoColors had raised Rs 1,014 crore from its IPO and entered the stock market with a decent listing gain of 90%. Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail and TCNS Clothing are among the listed companies in the Apparel and Clothing segment and their share price has seen a significant rise in the last six months.
