Nashik: Keeping in mind the limitation of conventional energy sources and the damage being done to the environment, now it has become necessary to use non-conventional energy effectively. Giving priority to the use of solar energy on this background, 6 thousand 500 families of Nashik have taken steps for energy promotion. Overall, the energy promotion campaign is getting help at the global level.
To encourage the family using solar energy, 5% rebate in property tax is being given by the Municipal Administration. On the one hand, due to the increasing graph of electricity bill and the loss of environment due to carbon emissions, citizens are now giving priority to the use of solar energy. The problem of electricity has become serious in the rural areas as well as in the cities. Hence loadshedding has become prevalent since last few years. On the other hand the increasing carbon emissions while using conventional energy source has become a matter of concern for the world. Different experiments are being done globally to reduce these carbon emissions. Individuals and families using solar energy at the local level are being exempted from property tax. This year the Municipal Corporation has received 6 thousand 500 applications. To get the benefit of this exemption, one has to apply to the municipal administration every three years. From last few years the percentage of application is increasing day by day.
