According to a survey of 9,000 women conducted by unicorn startup NoBroker, nearly 70 percent of women prefer to invest in real estate primarily for residential properties. In November last year, proptech NoBroker raised US$210 million from investors at a valuation of US$1 billion. proptech NoBroker caters to all property related needs like Rental, Buying, Home Services, Financial Services and Society Management.
NoBroker said that 69 per cent of women preferred investing in property over gold, SIP/stocks and luxury fashion. The survey was conducted in Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai and Pune.
80% of women want to buy a house to live in
Around 94 per cent people wanted to invest in housing, while 6 per cent were looking to invest in commercial properties. Over 80 percent wanted to buy a living.

According to the survey, 73 per cent of women were looking to buy properties ranging from Rs 40-75 lakh. 20 per cent were looking to buy properties between Rs 75 lakh and Rs 1 crore and the remaining 7 per cent were looking to buy properties above Rs 1 crore.
Among other findings, 63 percent of women preferred ready-to-move-in properties. Godrej Housing Finance said in a statement on Monday that “one in two women strongly agree that over the past year, their investments have moved towards asset creation and property purchases.”
According to a study by Godrej Housing Finance Post ‘Generation-Rent’, 34 percent of women believe that buying a new home is currently the best investment option. 52 percent of women have already started looking for a new home.
25% of Strata’s investors are women
Women currently comprise 25 percent of Strata’s total investors and the company aims to grow to 50 percent by 2025.
