Lucknow : The Yogi government has been expanding religious tourism with respect to faith since its first term. With this, a new script is being written for the development of the areas connected with the center of faith. The development of religious tourism is providing employment opportunities not only to the people of the region but also to the surrounding people. In addition, the infrastructure of the area is also developing rapidly. The Yogi government will expand this scheme in its second term.
The Yogi government, in its first term itself, gave priority to the development of the religious sector. Accelerated the development of other religious places including Ayodhya, Kashi and Mathura.

The construction work of Ram temple in Ayodhya is going on in full swing. At the same time, the development of infrastructure in Ayodhya is also happening fast. 17 projects worth 138 crores have been completed in Ayodhya. Work is going on war footing in 54 projects at a cost of Rs 3126 crore. The pilgrimage centers falling on the 84 Kosi Parikrama Marg are being developed. There is a plan to develop Ayodhya as a Vedic City. For this, roads are being constructed for Panchkosi, Fourteenkosi and Chaurasikosi Parikrama. Airports are being built, roads are being constructed and widened and markets are being organized to facilitate tourism.
Increase in the number of tourists coming from abroad
The work done by the Yogi government for the development of tourism in the state in the first five years of its first term was not done by any government since independence till 2017. Varanasi, despite being a big center of religious faith, could not achieve the position that it should have done in terms of tourism due to meager facilities. Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham was constructed at a cost of more than 600 crores within five years of Chief Minister Yogi taking over the power. Cruise service started operating to woo tourists. Along with this, a new development project was prepared for the 70 km long Panchkosi road. This has further strengthened Kashi’s identity at the international level. The number of tourists coming from India and abroad continues to increase continuously.
Ropeway is under construction in Barsana
It has been the intention of the state government from the very beginning that while maintaining the purity of the Braj region, it should be taken to the country and the world. Yogi government is constantly trying to make Braj region a world class tourist destination. For this, Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad has been constituted. There is a grand celebration of Krishnaotsav in Mathura and Rangotsav in Barsana. Along with this, major places related to the pastimes of Lord Krishna are being developed in the Braj region from the point of view of tourism. Ropeway construction is going on in Barsana.

The Yogi government had declared Vrindavan, Nandgaon, Govardhan, Gokul, Baldev and Radhakund pilgrimage areas in 2017 itself. The country’s largest city forest is being developed in Vrindavan near Kalidah Ghat of Yamuna river, which will be the center of tourist attraction. Tourist Facilitation Center in Vrindavan, Geeta Shodh Sansthan and Auditorium, construction of Annapurna Bhawan, Jubilee Park in Mathura, Barsana and Nandgaon are also being developed for tourist facilities.
Committed to pursue the development of religious sector by connecting it with tourism
The Yogi government has given a strong identity not only to religious places but also to the entire state on the international map of tourism. At the same time, the development of religious places and the surrounding area has also got a new impetus and new opportunities for employment and business are getting accessible. In its second term also, the Yogi government is determined to take forward the development of the religious sector by connecting it with tourism.
