Here the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rains in South India this week as well. According to the IMD, the cyclonic circulation persists up to 3.1 km above sea level in and around the Andaman Sea.
According to the IMD bulletin, wind speed reaching 60 kmph is very likely over Andaman and Nicobar Islands during the next three days. In such a situation, light to moderate rain may occur.

Kerala
At present, heavy rains in Kerala have become a disaster for the people. In view of the continuous heavy rains in the state, the government has put it on high alert. The Meteorological Department has said that there is a possibility of heavy rain in Kerala for the next 4 days.
The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in 6 districts of the state on October 13 and 14. IMD has issued an orange alert for three days in Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam and Idukki districts. Meanwhile, a yellow alert has been sounded in Thiruvananthapuram, Palakkad, Malappuram and Kozhikode districts. Yellow alert is issued in case of heavy rainfall of 6 to 11 cm.
Karnataka
The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rains for the next 4 days in Bengaluru, including the coastal areas of Karnataka.
Tamil Nadu
Heavy rain is expected in Salem, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Erode, Nilgiris and Coimbatore, Theni and Dindigul in Tamil Nadu. The state has received an average of 17 per cent more rainfall than the seasonal rainfall this year. Tamil Nadu has recorded 94.8 mm of rain between October 1 and October 18. Which is 81 percent more than the average rainfall for this period.

Apart from this, IMD has predicted thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and strong wind at isolated places over Andaman and Nicobar Islands. There is also a possibility of lightning at isolated places in Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala and Mahe, Tripura.
