The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Saturday that the Western Disturbance is likely to have an effect in the Western Himalayan region from the night of April 12. The IMD said that the maximum temperature is likely to drop by 2-3 degrees Celsius over most parts of northwest India during April 11 to 13. The intensity and distribution of heatwave is likely to reduce over plains of Northwest India during April 11 to 13.

A fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect the Western Himalayan Region (WHR) from the night of 12 April. In effect:
There is a possibility of light to moderate rain in the Western Himalayan region on April 12 and 13.
Dusty winds (20 to 30 kmph) likely over Rajasthan during 11th and 12th April. Strong surface winds (25 to 35 kmph) very likely over Southwest Uttar Pradesh from April 10 to 11.

In a forecast, the IMD said that the northeastern states from the Bay of Bengal will see the effect of strong southwesterly winds over the lower troposphere levels. Because of this:
Thunderstorm/lightning very likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal-Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam-Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during next 5 days.
Heavy rain likely in Arunachal Pradesh on April 10,13. Heavy rain likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal-Sikkim on April 9 and 10, Assam-Meghalaya on April 9 and 12.
There is a possibility of heavy rain in Assam-Meghalaya on April 10 and 11.
For Southern India, IMD said:
Very heavy rain likely over South Kerala on 9th April and heavy rain on 10th April.
There will also be heavy rains in the Ghat areas of Tamil Nadu on 9th and 10th April.
– Strong weather (gale 40 to 50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph likely) over Gulf of Mannar, Comorin region, southwest Bay of Bengal on 09th and 10th; Along the southeast Arabian Sea and Kerala coast on April 09.
The IMD has warned fishermen not to venture into these areas.

Heat wave conditions are likely to prevail over West-North India, Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha. Will continue for the next five days.
The IMD also informed that severe heat wave conditions are likely at many parts on April 9 and 10. Heat wave conditions in some parts on 11th April and at isolated places over East Rajasthan on 12th and 13th April. During 9-11 April, there is a possibility of severe heat wave in Punjab and Haryana, Delhi. On 09th and 10th April, severe heat wave conditions are likely over West Uttar Pradesh and parts of West Madhya Pradesh.

The Meteorological Department has predicted that heat wave conditions will prevail over some parts of West Madhya Pradesh during April 11 to 13. Heat wave conditions are very likely to occur over some parts of East Madhya Pradesh during next 5 days and at isolated places over Jharkhand on 09th and 10th.
According to the IMD’s official statement, severe heat wave conditions were observed over most parts of West Rajasthan and Haryana, Delhi throughout Friday. Meanwhile, Punjab, East Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Saurashtra and Kutch also faced severe conditions.
