Mumbai: India’s white-ball team captain Rohit Sharma wants to build a “strong relationship” between the players and hopes head coach Rahul Dravid will help him achieve the team’s goal of excellence. Rohit was recently appointed the captain of India’s ODI team in place of Virat Kohli. Rohit wants the team not to pay attention to outsiders as in the long run what will matter is what the players think of each other.
Rohit told ‘BCCI.TV’ in an interview, “We want to build a strong relationship between the players which will help us achieve our goals and yes, Rahul bhai will definitely help us to do that.” That’s why we are ready to do this. ,
“When you play for India, there will be a lot of pressure. Many people will say many things, positive and negative. What is personally important to me as a cricketer is to focus on my work and not what other people are talking about. You have no control over these things. ,
The mantra for Indian captains over the years has been ‘control the things that control’ and Rohit is no different. He said, “I have always been saying this and I will say this a million times, this message is also for the team, the team understands that when you play in a big tournament there will be a lot of discussions but it is important for us that the same But concentrate on what we have to do.”
Rohit said, “The (focus) is to win the match and show the game for which you are known. I think what happens outside is unimportant and what’s important is what we think of each other, what I think of a player. ,
