new Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday called upon the youth to make videos of popular songs in various Indian languages. This will not only make him popular but it will also enable him to introduce the new generation to the diversities of the country. In the latest episode of his monthly radio program “Mann Ki Baat” by All India Radio, the Prime Minister said that even after 75 years of the country’s independence, some people are living in such mental conflict, due to which they have to change their language, their clothes, their food- There is a hesitation about paan, whereas, nowhere else in the world is there such a thing.
He said that everyone has his own mother tongue and everyone should speak it with pride. The Prime Minister said that over 200 stolen statues and heritage monuments have been brought back from different countries in the last seven years and this success is an example of the changing world outlook towards India. “Till 2013, around 13 idols had come to India, but in the last seven years, India has successfully brought back more than 200 precious idols,” he said.
The Prime Minister said that as an Indian, it is natural for everyone to get satisfaction when a valuable heritage of the country is returned. He said that in the history of the country for thousands of years, one after the other idols were always made and the effect of that time is also visible in the history of every idol. He said that this heritage is not only a unique example of sculpture of India, but was also associated with the faith of Indians. “But, in the past, many idols were stolen and went out of India. Sometimes in this country, sometimes in that country, these idols were sold and for them they were just artwork. They had nothing to do with its history, nor had anything to do with faith.

He said a 600-700-year-old idol of Lord Anjaneyaar, which was stolen from Vellore in Tamil Nadu, was recovered from Australia this month. Similarly, more than a thousand years old idol of Avalokiteshvara Padmapani, stolen from a temple in Gaya, Bihar, has been brought from Italy. The Prime Minister said, “It is our responsibility towards Mother India to bring back these idols. In these idols, there is a part of faith of the soul of India and they also have a cultural-historical importance. Realizing this responsibility, India increased its efforts. Due to this a fear has also been created among those who tend to steal.”
He said that the countries where these idols were stolen and taken away, now they also started to feel that the diplomatic channel of “soft power” in relations with India can also have a great importance in it. Modi said that America, Britain, Holland, France, Canada, Germany, Singapore, many such countries have understood this spirit of India and helped us to bring back the idols. He said, “Just a few days ago you must have seen, the statue of Mother Annapurna Devi, which was stolen from Kashi, was also brought back. This is an example of the changing world outlook towards India.
Referring to the International Mother Language Day observed a few days back, the Prime Minister referred to Tanzania’s siblings Kylie Paul and Nima and said both paid their soulful tributes by singing a song by Lata Mangeshkar. He said that both the brothers and sisters were also honored a few days ago at the Indian Embassy in Tanzania for this wonderful creativity. He said that the magic of Indian music is something that fascinates everyone. He said, “I call upon the youth of the country to make videos of popular songs of Indian languages in their own way. With this, he can become popular himself and also make the new generation aware of the country’s diversities.
The Prime Minister said that the greatest beauty of Indian languages is that from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, from Kutch to Kohima, hundreds of languages, thousands of dialects are different from each other but are integrated into each other. He said, “Languages are many, but sentiments are one. For centuries our languages have been refining themselves by learning from each other. Tamil is the world’s oldest language in India and every Indian should be proud that we have such a huge heritage of the world.” He said that more people than many European countries do not have a total population, more people are associated with 14 different languages here.
Modi said, “In the year 2019, Hindi was at number three among the most spoken languages of the world. Every Indian should be proud of this too. Language is not only a medium of expression, but language also serves to preserve the culture and heritage of the society. He said that the National Education Policy lays emphasis on teaching in mother tongue and efforts are being made to teach professional courses also in regional languages. The Prime Minister lauded the women of the country for taking the lead in every field and said that women are reaching new heights in various fields and breaking old myths.
He said, “The daughters of the country are taking on new and bigger roles in the army. The government has lifted the ban on the admission of girls in Sainik Schools. Women are in the role of directors in almost half of the startups in the country. He said that the country is today making efforts to equalize the age of marriage by giving equal rights to sons and daughters and with the success of Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, the boy-girl ratio in the country has improved.
