Washim. Voting is being held on December 21 for 188 member posts out of 116 gram panchayats due to death, resignation, incapacitation and some other reasons in the district. The campaigning has stopped on Sunday evening. Similarly, the general election of Manora Nagar Panchayat is also being held on Tuesday, December 21, due to which the administration has been prepared for the voting process.
After the by-elections of Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti, the political atmosphere has been completely heated in these cold days with the Gram Panchayat by-election and the general election of Nagar Panchayat of Manora. By-elections are being held for the vacant posts of 188 members out of 116 gram panchayats due to death, resignation and other reasons in the district. During the period from November 30 to December 6, candidates had filed their nomination papers.
During this, due to the filing of nomination papers for each of the vacant seats in 39 gram panchayats, due to the opposition of the by-election here, only now there will be a formal announcement of the election, the administration has also been prepared for these places to be voted on December 21. . Prohibitory orders have been implemented at these places to keep law and order undisturbed. Strict police arrangements are to be made in the sensitive polling station premises.
Tehsil Nihay in Gram Panchayat by-election
There are 14 Gram Panchayats in Washim Tehsil, 9 Gram Panchayats in Risod Tehsil, 20 Gram Panchayats in Malegaon Tehsil, 9 Gram Panchayats in Mangrulpeer Tehsil, 36 Gram Panchayats in Karanja Tehsil and 28 Gram Panchayats in Manora Tehsil.
During this, four out of 17 seats of Manora’s Nagar Panchayat were reserved for OBC category, due to which voting is now going on for 13 seats on December 21, while for four seats of OBC category, voting is going to happen later.
