The Election Commission has deputed 56 General Observers, 10 Police Observers and 18 Expenditure Observers to monitor the voting process. Apart from this, 1,680 sector magistrates, 228 zonal magistrates, 173 static magistrates and 2,137 micro observers have also been deployed. Along with this, one Senior General Observer, one Senior Police Observer and two Senior Expenditure Observers have also been deployed at the state level.
With the voting under the sixth phase of the election, re-polling will also take place at the polling station number 311 of Handia assembly constituency of Prayagraj district. Under the fifth phase, after the voting held on February 27 last, the commission has given instructions to conduct re-polling due to missing documents.
Last time in the sixth phase of the 2017 assembly elections, out of these 57 seats, 46 seats were won by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and two by its allies Apna Dal (S) and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SubHSP), although this time Subhaspa It is contesting the elections in alliance with the Samajwadi Party (SP). Swami Prasad Maurya, who won the elections from the BJP last time from Padrauna assembly seat of Kushinagar district and was the labor minister in the Yogi government for nearly five years, is the SP candidate this time from the Fazilnagar seat of Kushinagar, where his main contest is against BJP’s Surendra Kushwaha. . State Agriculture Minister and BJP candidate Surya Pratap Shahi is pitted against his old rival and SP candidate Brahmashankar Tripathi in the Pathardeva seat of Deoria district. Apart from this, Minister of State for Independent Charge Shri Ram Chauhan (Khajni-Gorakhpur), Minister of State Jaiprakash Nishad (Rudrapur-Deoria) and Shalabh Mani Tripathi (Deoria), who came into politics from journalism, are in the fray as BJP candidates.
Ajay Kumar Lallu is in the fray from Tamkuhiraj seat of Kushinagar. In Ballia, Leader of Opposition Ram Govind Chaudhary (Bansdih) is trying his luck from SP. Lalji Verma, who was the leader of the BSP legislature party in the Katehri assembly seat of Ambedkarnagar district, is trying his luck as a SP candidate this time. At the same time, former BSP state president Ram Achal Rajbhar is the SP candidate this time in the Akbarpur assembly seat of the same district.
