Wani, The Maharashtra government has implemented the changed Motor Vehicle Act 2019 in the state, after which violating the traffic rules is going to be very expensive. By issuing a notification, the state government has increased the amount of challan for violation of traffic rules by making changes in the 2019 Act.
Violation of traffic rules is now going to be heavy on the pocket. Now new traffic rules have come into force for the drivers. The amount of fine has been increased significantly in the rules. Provision has been made to impose fine on the drivers who violate the traffic rules. A new Central Motor Vehicle Act has been implemented in the state and the decision in this regard has been taken by the Transport Department.
A notification in this regard has also been issued on December 11. Changes have been made in many traffic rules under the Central Motor Vehicle Act. Under the new Central Motor Vehicle Act, two-wheelers will be fined Rs 1000 for talking on mobile while driving.
Four wheeler owners will be fined Rs 2000, and if any offense is committed for the second time within three years or even after that, then a fine of Rs 10,000 will be imposed on each offense. Also, the previous fine for driving without a license was Rs 500. But now the fine has been increased to Rs 5000.
According to the notification regarding the new traffic rules, a fine of one thousand rupees will be imposed on two wheelers, three thousand rupees on four wheelers and four thousand rupees on the drivers of other vehicles for violating the traffic rules.
Earlier this fine was Rs 500. If the offense is committed for the second time in three years, a fine of Rs 10,000 will be imposed. If a person below 16 years of age is driving without a driving license, then earlier the fine was Rs 500, which will now be Rs 5000. Also, the old fine without medical registration will now be Rs 2000 for the first time and Rs 5000 for the second time.
Similarly, the amount of other fines has also been increased to punish those who violate the traffic rules. Meanwhile, the central government amended the Motor Vehicles Act and introduced a new law, which significantly increased the amount of fines. But the Maharashtra government opposed him.
The then Transport Minister Diwakar Rawate had made it clear that he was immediately suspending the new Motor Vehicle Act. However, in view of the increasing number of traffic violations and accidents in the state, the transport department is adamant on implementing the new laws. Under this, the Transport Department has issued a notification on 1 December 2021. Also, this notification has been implemented from December 13.
