Lucknow: The UP government has so far purchased about 40.92 lakh metric tonnes of paddy, benefiting more than 6 lakh farmers of the state. The procurement of paddy from farmers in Kharif Marketing Season 2021-22 is going on smoothly as in previous years. According to Food and Civil Supplies Commissioner Saurabh Babu, till December 30, paddy worth more than Rs 7381.08 crore has been purchased from farmers and the payment is being made directly in their bank accounts within 72 hours of purchase.
The process of paddy procurement is going on smoothly in the state. As per the reports given by the departments, state government agencies and Food Corporation of India have procured more than 0.87 LMT of paddy in the last 24 hours. On the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, it has been ensured that farmers do not face any kind of problem. Strict monitoring is also being done to make the process smooth.

Explain that the government has purchased paddy worth Rs 7381.08 crore from 603498 farmers at MSP. The Chief Minister had directed key officers including ADM, SDM, Tehsildars to conduct on-site inspection of procurement centers to ensure smooth procurement of the crop. More than 4000 procurement centers have been set up across the state to facilitate direct procurement from farmers in 73 districts.
