Lucknow: To keep the general public safe from the COVID-19 (COVID-19) pandemic, the administration has cleared 90 per cent of the state’s population before the first phase of voting to be held on February 10 of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election 2022. Complete vaccination of the adult population has been targeted. The Returning Officers of Uttar Pradesh are also ensuring that the staff and security personnel participating in the poll work are given both doses of the vaccine and that all employees are also given an additional ‘precautionary’ dose.
Additional Chief Secretary (Information) Navneet Sehgal told ‘Bhasha’, “Till Friday, about 97 percent of the adult population in the state has received the first dose of vaccine and we aim to give the first dose of vaccine to 100 percent by January 25.” Cross the giving figure.” He said that about 63 per cent of the people in Uttar Pradesh have received both doses of the vaccine and efforts are on to ensure that 90 per cent of adults get both doses of the anti-Covid-19 vaccine before the first phase of polling on February 10.

Sehgal said that the speed of vaccination has been increased in view of the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, earlier 25 lakh people were being vaccinated daily in the state on an average, now efforts are being made to increase this number to 30 lakh. Apart from this, temperature check will also be done by thermal screening of all the employees before going on duty for voting. If any employee is found to be in poor health, he will be immediately removed from duty.
The Chief Electoral Officer said that all polling stations will be sanitized before polling and COVID rules will be followed during voting. Voting is to be held in seven phases in Uttar Pradesh. It will begin with voting on February 10 in 58 seats in 11 districts of the western part of the state. The last phase of polling will be held on March 7. The election results will be declared on March 10.
