Union ministers along with PM Modi asked people to encourage hand made products

New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and top Union Ministers including Amit Shah, Nirmala Sitharaman and Piyush Goyal on Friday on the occasion of National Handloom Day on social media by encouraging people to make handmade products (vocal for handmade) efforts of self-reliant India Asked to provide strength.

The Prime Minister tweeted,

“On National Handloom Day, we salute all those associated with our vibrant and energetic handloom and handicrafts sector. These exemplary people have consistently made commendable efforts to preserve the indigenous craft of our nation. Let us encourage all vocal products (vocals for handmade) and continuously strengthen our efforts towards creating a ‘self-reliant India’. ”

Top ministers of the government including Home Minister Amit Shah, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal and Minister of Textiles and Women and Child Development Smriti Irani shared their views on social media today and Indians Underlining the importance of handloom, people were asked to support the ‘Vocal for Handmade’ campaign.

People from all sections shared their photos with handloom products, expressing support in this social media campaign.

Shah tweeted,

“The Modi government is committed to the overall development of the weaver community.” Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Vocal for Local’ mantra will definitely boost the handloom sector morale. Let us all pledge the support of ‘Vocal for Handmade’ to realize Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream of a self-reliant India.

They said,

“For the first time since 2014, weavers are being given due credit by developing the real skills of our toiling weavers. To give them further encouragement, Prime Minister Modi declared National Handloom Day on August 7 in 2015 so that weavers can be included in the mainstream of India’s development ”.

Sitharaman tweeted, “Swadeshi movement started on this day in 1905. Now National Handloom Day is being celebrated. India has a unique list in the handloom sector, which consists of yarn, silk, wool, jute etc. Still different everywhere. Since college, we have worn only handmade garments. Mangalagiri, Manipuri, Pochampally, Banarsi, Sambalpuri and many more. ”

Smriti Irani called upon people to adopt handloom products and support the ‘Self-reliant India’ campaign.

He tweeted,

“Seven August – National Handloom Day is a day to honor the rich and diverse handloom products of India and to remember the contribution of weavers in preserving our heritage.”

Goyal tweeted, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken many big steps while empowering our weavers and artisans and contributing to preserve our rich indigenous heritage.”

Jaishankar said, “National Handloom Day is being celebrated. It is our pride to support our traditions and heritage. This leads to livelihood of millions of people. Another aspect of self-reliant India. ”
