Sindhudurg: Union minister Narayan Rane on Tuesday claimed that his son was being framed and that the MVA government in Maharashtra was misusing power, amid speculation that there was a possible arrest of his son and BJP MLA Nitesh Rane in an attempt to murder case. Is. Addressing a press conference in Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra, Narayan Rane said that all this is being done ahead of Sindhudurg District Cooperative Bank elections.
The Union minister alleged that if the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA- comprising Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress) wins the cooperative bank elections, it will help it to hide the past irregularities committed by its leaders. He asked why the top police officers, including the DGP, were camping in the district.
Rane told reporters, “Nitesh is being falsely implicated in the case. (IPC) section 307 (attempt to murder) is invoked in a case where the complainant has suffered injuries. Nitesh was not there at the time of the incident.” He said, “This is being done before the Sindhudurg District Co-operative Bank elections. The state government is misusing the power.”
Nitesh Rane, MLA from Kankavali assembly seat in Sindhudurg district of Konkan region, had sought relief from any coercive action by filing an anticipatory bail plea in an attempt to murder case. The case pertains to the alleged assault on a person named Santosh Parab (44).
Narayan Rane left Shiv Sena in 2005. The Konkan region has seen a bitter rivalry between him and Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray (who is also the current Shiv Sena president) for some time now.(Agency)
