Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Narayan Rane was arrested on Tuesday for his remarks against Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. Earlier, his bail plea was rejected by the sessions court located in Ratnagiri. According to the Indian Express report, District Magistrate BN Patil said that Rane was arrested by Ratnagiri police after exhausting all legal options.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena workers demonstrated outside Rane’s house in Juhu. There was also a clash between Rane’s supporters and Shiv Sena members in Juhu, where stone pelting also came to the fore. Two people are reported to have been injured in this incident. Shiv Sena members threw black ink and eggs at Rane’s house. Shiv Sena workers also demonstrated against Rane on the streets of Malad East. Additional commissioner of police Sandeep Karnik said they had to use lathi-charge to disperse the crowd.

Speaking on Rane’s arrest, BJP’s MLC Prasad Lad, who was accompanying the minister, said that the party denies it, in which Maharashtra Police and Ratnagiri SP behaved and arrested Narayan Rane. According to him, Rane was having food when the police misbehaved with him and arrested him.
