The impact of the war on Russia’s economy

Ukrainian army not ready to surrender

Russia could not capture Mariupol
Ukrainian President Volvodimir Zelensky has said 100,000 people are still living in Mariupol. The city had a population of 430,000 before the war. Attacks by air, land and sea have tarnished the picture of cities. Difficulties are being faced in delivering essential goods to the people.
Russia has lost 10% of its strategic capability
It is not yet known exactly how many soldiers of Russia and Ukraine were killed in this battle. According to an estimate, this number may be a few thousand right now. The US estimates that Russia has lost 10 percent of its strategic capability. It has suffered losses in terms of troops, tanks and other equipment.
Estimated death of 15,000 Russian soldiers
Ukraine has claimed damage to 15,000 Russian troops. NATO estimates that 7,000 to 15,000 Russian soldiers have lost their lives so far. It has to be noted that in the Afghanistan Crisis that lasted more than 10 years, about 15,000 Russian soldiers were killed. The Ukrainian government claims that more than 3,600 of its citizens have died as of 23 March. But, the United Nations has said that this figure could be slightly higher than 950.
