Bengaluru: After the death of Air Force Group Captain Varun Singh, the lone survivor of the helicopter crash near Coonoor in Tamil Nadu, his body was sent to Bhopal on Thursday in a special aircraft. . Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat, his wife and 11 other army personnel lost their lives in the incident on December 8.
Varun Singh, who was seriously injured in the accident, was undergoing treatment, but died on Wednesday morning at a military hospital in Bengaluru. The body of Group Captain Varun Singh was taken from the hospital to the Air Force base at Yelahanka this morning where Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot, military and government officials besides Varun Singh’s family members paid floral tributes to the deceased. After this the body of Varun Singh was sent to Bhopal by special aircraft.

The 39-year-old Group Captain, considered an quintessential ‘Test Pilot’, is survived by a wife, an 11-year-old son and an eight-year-old daughter. Singh’s father Colonel (Retd) K.P.
