Srinagar. The cases of Omicron Variant in India are not taking their names to stop. More than 10 cases of Omicron are being reported daily. This virus is at least three times more contagious than the delta variant. It is believed that due to Omicron, there will be a third wave of corona in the country and the situation in the second wave will be even worse than that. So far this virus has engulfed 14 states. Meanwhile, on Tuesday, 3 new cases of Omicron have been reported in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. After which the number of infected has reached 216.
The Department of Health and Medical Education, Jammu and Kashmir on its official Twitter account wrote, “Three cases of Omicron variant confirmed by National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) from a locality in Jammu. Samples were taken on November 30 and now RT-PCR test of the entire locality has been ordered.”

The three patients found in Jammu and Kashmir do not have any foreign travel history and their condition is stable.

It is noteworthy that Omicron has so far taken entry in 14 states including Union Territories. Maharashtra (65) has the highest number of Omicron cases in the country. Whereas the capital Delhi is at number two. So far (54) patients have been found in Delhi. Whereas Telangana (20), Karnataka (19), Rajasthan (18), Gujarat (14), Kerala (15), Jammu and Kashmir (3), Uttar Pradesh (2), Odisha (2), Andhra Pradesh (1), Omicron cases have been found in Chandigarh (1), Tamil Nadu (1) and West Bengal (1).
